So we covered tomatoes with horns and noses. Now, what about tomatoes with rotten bottoms?
Blossom-end rot is another disorder brought about by intense heat and dryness, and so will be seen frequently this summer. It stems from a calcium deficiency caused by severe fluctuations in moisture and/or drought. How to prevent it? Keep your plants evenly moist by watering at the roots (but not drenched, tomatoes do not like to be drenched and this can cause actual blight), mulch, and well … do a rain dance? How are your tomatoes doing this year? ~AR
